This is a personal home page, not legal advice. If we haven't signed a written engagement agreement, I'm not your lawyer and you should not send me any confidential information. Hiring a lawyer is an important decision that you should not make based solely on advertising.

Privacy Policy

Privacy overview; policy changes

This policy applies to information collected from my home page, at https://www.cridder.com. Information that any other websites may collect is subject to the policies of those other websites.

If I make material changes to the policy, the date the policy was changed will be reflected here.

Information collection

Collection and processing in the U.S. This site processes the information it collects in the United States. Third-party service providers like web hosts and analytics providers may process information in the United States or other jurisdictions.

Information you provide. This site doesn't provide a mechanism for you to submit information, but obviously if you send me (for example) an email, I will collect the information in that email.

Log files and analytics. Like many other websites, this site gathers certain information automatically and stores it in log files. This information may include your IP address, unique device identifier (e.g., UDID, IMEI, MAC address, etc.), browser type, referring / exit pages and URLs, number of clicks, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information. I may analyze such data myself, using Google Analytics, or other similar third-party services. Third parties (like hosting/analytics providers) may also have access to and make use of this information. For example, to learn more about how Google Analytics collects and uses your data when you use this site, and how you can control the information sent to Google Analytics, please review “How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps”, (located at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners. I use log files and analytics to learn about my users, to analyze trends, and to improve and administer the site.

Pixels, aka Web Beacons. I or my service providers (e.g., hosting/analytics) may employ pixels, aka web beacons, which are small blocks of code that may allow me or another service to measure viewing of a webpage and to track the online usage patterns of visitors. This information is used in a similar manner, and for similar purposes, as the log files and analytics discussed above.

Cookies. A cookie is a small file that is stored on your computer. I or my service providers (e.g., hosting/analytics) may place one or more cookies on your computer. Cookies can help me understand how you got to my site, recognize you on subsequent visits, and see which pages you view during your visit. This information is used in a similar manner, and for similar purposes, as the log files and analytics discussed above. If you prefer not to receive cookies, you can set your web browser software to disable them.

Minors under 13. Users must be thirteen (13) years of age or older to use this site. This site will never knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from visitors known to be under thirteen (13) years of age.

Do Not Track. At this time, this site does not respond to “do not track” signals sent from browsers.

Use of Information

To provide you with the service. The site uses information it collects to provide you with the service.

For internal reporting and analysis. As noted above, I and third parties like hosting/analtics providers may use information gathered from log files, cookies, and the like to improve the site, understand usage patterns, analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movements around the site, and to gather information about users of the site.

Sharing/disclosure of information

With third-party service providers. I use third-party service providers for web hosting and analytics, and may use additional contractors or service providers (for example, website design/maintenance, advanced site features). Such providers may have access to log files and other information about your site visit, and use such information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

With the public. I may publish anonymized, non-personally-identifiable, and/or aggregate information about site visitors for promotional purposes or for the general interest of my users.

In other circumstances, including legal requests. I reserve the right to disclose information, including personally identifiable informaiton, when I have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation, or disclosure of such information is necessary to (a) comply with any law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; (b) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud or security or technical issues; or (c) protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of me, my users, or the public as required or permitted by law.

CA Shine The Light Law / Your California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, known as the “Shine the Light” law, permits California residents to request and obtain a list of what personal information (if any) I may have disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year, including the names and addresses of those third parties. I do not make such disclosures.

Security

I endeavor to provide reasonable security applicable to information collected through site, consistent with its purpose as a personal web site. Unfortunatley, I can't guarantee the security of any information collected.
